Globalisation: the force for change in the tertiary sector or not?
Abstract
This paper draws upon the literature to discuss the proposition that globalisation is the force for change in the tertiary sector. It investigates the linkages between globalisation, internationalisation and curricula. The conclusion drawn from this study identifies “abdication” of State responsibility as the true force for change in the tertiary education environment and the “differentiation strategy” in the face of competition is “the lure” and the wider increasing mobility of students “the fish,” universities worldwide are seeking to snare.
